The Walking Dead Season Five has been pretty amazing so far but it’s about time for us to lose another main character don’t you think? I hate to say it but it’s pretty clear that at least one important character is going to go during the mid-season finale this Sunday. Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd tells ETonline that the episode will be “completely unexpected.“
Hurd also talks about Rick’s emotional state this season, “Every time there’s hope, it seems to be shattered and he doesn’t want any more surprises. He’s someone who is probably further down that path of not trusting anyone then ever before.“
Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) inadvertently hints that we might lose either Beth or Carol in the mid-season finale. He told TV Guide that he had to prepare for a particularly important scene by crying for an hour just to ensure that he didn’t tear up too much on camera. “I sat on an apple box with my head between my legs and just bawled for an hour. I really wanted to not tear up during the scene, I wanted to be like I wasted every tear in my body before we started shooting so I just sat there and cried and cried and cried.“
My bets are on Carol since Daryl seems to have developed a close and loving relationship with her. However, Gale Hurd’s comments are making me wonder what kinds of twists and turns we will be seeing on Sunday. I guess we’ll have to wait and find out!
